Cannwood House
Introducing a contemporary conservatory to this Grade II* property called for careful judgement; really getting to know the building and its character before adding anything else. New-build work like this might come with different challenges to historic restorations, but we take the same exacting approach to getting every detail right.
We were appointed by Cannwood Estates to collaborate with Edward Jones Architects on a conservatory space beside the property. We put together a full groundworks package, and were then contracted to deliver the full structure. Fine architectural brickwork — bold columns, lofty arched doorways – rise up into framed glass panes, and span out into expansive hard landscaping in Whitton Fell stone and brick.

Inside and out
The internal alterations bridge then and now, bringing everything together; the original building and the new conservatory sit comfortably side by side. York stone paving, fitted joinery and a large working fireplace complete the build. We even stowed underfloor heating beneath the paving, adding modern comfort without disturbing the character of the space.
